Asbestos Surveying Services

We offer the following surveying services conducted in accordance with the HSE guidance document HSG264 Asbestos: the survey guide and the requirements of European quality standard ISO17020.


ukasManagement Survey

This survey is designed to record the location, extent and condition of asbestos containing materials within your building(s). We compile comprehensive reports including easy to use action plans and detailed colour-coded schematic drawings. From the survey findings we can assist in the on-going management and monitoring of any asbestos identified on your sites.


ukasRefurbishment and Demolition Surveys

A refurbishment survey is required before conducting refurbishment works, intrusive maintenance and repair work or plant removal on your building(s). The aim is to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all asbestos materials in the area(s) to be refurbished. There is a specific requirement in the CAR2012 for all asbestos containing materials to be removed, as far as reasonably practicable, before major refurbishment. A demolition survey goes further in preparation for the demolition of a structure (or part demolition).
We are accredited by UKAS as a type C inspection body for asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys to European standard ISO/IEC 17020:2012.

Having identified asbestos, inevitably there will be some action to take to either make it safe or maintain it in a safe condition.

There may be other reasons that will require action to be taken regarding asbestos: planned maintenance may provide an opportunity to remove asbestos or a refurbishment project may require asbestos removal prior to works commencing. Energy Performance Certificate

Since 1 October 2008, all commercial buildings whenever they are sold, built or rented are required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

The certificate provides energy efficiency ratings on an A-G scale and recommendations for improvement. Public buildings are required to have a Display Energy Certificate.

At William Martin Compliance Solutions, our accredited energy assessors deliver a consistent, fast and efficient service surveying premises and delivering the required Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates.

Since January this year a further level of compliance is required of building owners and managers to assess and inspect their air conditioning systems. We have the relevant expertise to conduct these inspections and deliver a full report on the findings with action plan.
